Some of you may be aware that i’ve taken a slight step back from local events this year and have instead been concentrating on creating some exciting new ranges! Inspired by the fantastic CMYK Exhibition at The Making House in April (and the lack of a definable summertime this year!) I began foraging through my paper hoard for bright, exciting colours and fell in love with an inherited pad of neon bright papers.
With the recession still affecting people’s spending coupled with the interest I’ve received in my Origami Collections this year, I decided it was time to go back to my business roots and create a more affordable range of paper jewellery.
The Treasure Collection, created from 18 modular pieces of paper and set into a silver toned setting, was released in June 2013 and is now available to buy from my Folksy Shop.
Another reason for my slight step back this year is my new part-time job at Hyson Green Post Office. Having grown up in a posting family I spent hours of my childhood sat behind the Post Office counter playing with Airmail stickers and trying not to get in the way! Something that hasn’t changed through the years is a sense of belonging amongst packets and parcels, and the excitement of receiving the latest special edition stamps!
My new Estampe Collection reflects my youthful wonder and fascination with such simple yet elegant pieces of paper, and is also now available to buy via my Folksy Shop.
